How can posture impact your life?

10/3/2019

I wanted to share some feedback that I received from Dylan after he received his Travel Buddy. I was so thrilled to hear about how the carryover of pain free driving has impacted his life!

I’m an ultra runner who is always achey and struggling to keep up good posture in the car (car manufacturers make this extremely hard for individuals like myself with a ridiculously long torso)! I recently learned after purchasing a new Subaru Outback that “head rests” are now referred to as “head restraints” and are no longer intended for comfort but safety in the event of whiplash. They’re crazy uncomfortable and FORCE me into improper posture, hyperextending my cervical spine and placing so much load on my upper back! Good lord! Anyway, I’ve really been struggling in the car for a while now, can never get comfortable, associate the car with anxiety, etc. etc., and receiving your product in the mail has been LIFE CHANGING.

I now feel relaxed in the car because it is no longer a torture chamber, and by golly does it feel good! This effect is trickling down into all facets of my life, particularly my training, but also into the way I feel about myself and the world. It’s hard to be a kind, patient, loving human (as we all want) when you’re battling neck pain and don’t see a way out of it! Your product has allowed me to breathe easier and smile more, and be more available for others.

As an aspiring chiro, it is ideas like yours that I strive to share, allowing others to live an easier existence and focus on what really matters.

Love from Dallas, and brimming with admiration,
Dylan

Airplane headrests

Check out these airplane headrests!  When did we start thinking that having our head 3" in front of our torso was a good idea!?  We need to stop working our way down the evolutionary chart.
Thankfully, the Travel Buddy has straps long enough to go around an airplane seat, or it can just be positioned behind your torso if you don't want to clip it around.  This will fill the space between your low back and your head to allow you to sit up straighter.

Tired of your neck and upper back pain when driving?  Is your head rest driving you crazy?

I am excited to start this blog to help spread the word about the Travel Buddy.  My invention began to take shape several years ago as I started to having increasing problems driving due to neck pain and upper back pain from the forward tilt of the head rest in my car.  Car manufacturers, under new regulation, have had to angle the head rest forward to help prevent whiplash.  I feel this is due to the amount of screen time the average persons spends per day, and the effects of that on our posture.  When our heads and upper back are more rounded, it creates pain in the neck, upper traps, upper back and shoulders.  Being a physical therapist, I spend the majority of my efforts on my neck patients working to correct their postural position. Previously however, they would then get back in their cars and undo everything we had worked so hard to fix! I am thrilled to say that my patients and I have had fantastic success in utilizing the Travel Buddy to correct their driving posture (and driving pain), and have seen that corrected position carry over into their daily positioning as well!!  Please feel free to browse through the website to find out more!!   travelbuddyposture.com
