I am excited to start this blog to help spread the word about the Travel Buddy. My invention began to take shape several years ago as I started to having increasing problems driving due to neck pain and upper back pain from the forward tilt of the head rest in my car. Car manufacturers, under new regulation, have had to angle the head rest forward to help prevent whiplash. I feel this is due to the amount of screen time the average persons spends per day, and the effects of that on our posture. When our heads and upper back are more rounded, it creates pain in the neck, upper traps, upper back and shoulders. Being a physical therapist, I spend the majority of my efforts on my neck patients working to correct their postural position. Previously however, they would then get back in their cars and undo everything we had worked so hard to fix! I am thrilled to say that my patients and I have had fantastic success in utilizing the Travel Buddy to correct their driving posture (and driving pain), and have seen that corrected position carry over into their daily positioning as well!! Please feel free to browse through the website to find out more!! travelbuddyposture.com

I've had my Travel Buddy for a couple of years now and can't imagine being without it now. I am 68 and tend to rounded shoulders and forward neck with age, so this has been perfect to help me sit up straighter in the car. It has been completely resolved my neck pain and shoulder aches - especially on long trips. I always say it is like a comforting hand on my back helping my posture and filling in that dip in the car seat! Such a simple and well designed solution... everyone should have one!!!

This is great! I've been looking for something just like this all over. I just bought a new car, and almost returned it because of the pain in my neck from the head rest.

Thank you for posting this blog. I bought a new vehicle a year ago and the head rest has been driving me crazy ever since. I want to take it and turn it around backwards, but it won't come out. My neck has been killing me! I'm going to order one of your Travel Buddies now!

Everyone with neck pain, back pain, cars with bucket seats ... needs the Travel Buddy. Honestly, I don't drive or ride in the car without mine. It's the best invention, one I have shared with others I know who suffer like me!

I just bought a Travel Buddy for my car and I love it. Would you recommend it for my passengers as well?

Great question Lori! Your passengers are riding in the same vehicle, so they have the same annoying forward-leaning head rests. In other words, yes, I would recommend it for the passengers as well. :o)

My husband and I often swap vehicles, and the headrests are slightly different in the two cars. Is the Travel Buddy adjustable?

I consistently experienced neck pain and headaches after driving my husband's newer car. The forward angle of the headrest made it impossible for me to find a comfortable position for the seat! The travel buddy allow me to drive his car comfortably for hours by keeping my spine aligned. Thanks Claire!

Thank you Kim! I'm so glad you've had relief from your headaches and neck pain...certainly makes traveling more enjoyable! I have also found that fixing my neck pain when I'm driving has made me a less crabby driver! :o)

I travel a lot for work. Sometimes used neck pillow. Always uncomfortable - and my back hurt! (Reading this blog, I now understand why.)
